West Lebanon, N.H. — Samuel Tefft, 76, of West Lebanon, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016, at his home from natural causes.

Taking public transportation you will meet interesting people. Sam was one of those guys everyone knew. A local legend of sort. He frequented the auctions and bought a ton of silver. He would call me Sam and a few minutes later he would ask me my name and I would say Fred then he would say his brothers name was Fred . This happened quite often. He would tell me of his exploits going to church dinners and his troubles with the law and the gossip about what went on at the local thrift stores. How he thought his house would collapse because of his hoarding. How the condo board kept making them spend money that he thought was nonsense. He would mention about when he died no one would want the stuff he collected. Even though you know it was worth a lot of money. How everything in the world was going crazy and he would yell it so loud everyone on the bus would know his opinions.  One of the last times I seen Sam he showed me pictures of himself from his youth. A article that someone found and photo copied for him. He told me about how he would lend people money and get mad when he said he had none ... When I asked him dude you need some cash I'll give it to you... he said to me he carried over a grand in his shirt pocket. Through all the seasons he would wear heavy jackets and scarfs. I enjoyed our short encounters from going to the jiffy mart so he could pee before we would walk and talk for a few blocks to the thrift store or him talking me into stopping at the hospital to banter while transferring buses. Real genuine dude. Rest in peace hope there's a lot of free food and auctions wherever your soul went too!
