Growing up the only pets me and my sister were allowed was a hamster and also had a fish but both pets didn't last that long. When my sister got married she finally was like I can have a dog and she got one and didn't last long. No the dog didn't die. They felt that between both of them working and wanting to go do things it wasn't fair to the dog. Orbit ( the pups name) wound up getting a good home. When I moved out I wound up getting quite a few pets. I had 3 bunnies . A boxer pup. Also a cat. The first rabbit was lovable but ended up eating something it shouldn't and couldn't digest whatever it was , caused a blockage, and wound up passing. This was the only one that I was around when she passed. It takes a toll on you. The cat and other bunnies ended up passing after they moved in with my ex. It weighs on my brain but at least I didn't see them deteriorating. Tonight I think of Roxy. She's the sweet old cat I've been living with the past 3 years. She's been going through so much this summer. First we found out she has diabetes. Then she had a urinary tract infection. Had to remove a eye. A few weeks after that she had a seizure from too much insulin. After that scare we had to get all her teeth removed . The past few days the urinary tract infection came back, I feel so sad for her and hopefully she pulls through. Makes me wonder why we put ourselves through so much emotional investment. I know because they are so fuzzy and lovable.
