     Every day that passes we are getting closer to Christmas. What that means is plenty of desserts that will occupy my stomach.  When I was a wee lad we would go by my Grandmothers apartment and play while she prepped food and desserts for Christmas Eves dinner. The main one I remember the most was Struffoli even though I never knew the name or even cared until I had seen a friend of mine post of picture of it on Facebook today. They are just little balls of fried dough that are drenched in Honey and got either little rainbow sprinkles or chocolate chips mixed in with it. They were a little crunchy on the outside but soft on the inside. Being a kid they were fun to eat because they were really messy. The kind of messy where you are licking all the sweet honey off your finger tips. I also remember her frying up another dessert with dough that was dusted in powdered sugar then drizzled in honey and maintained its crispy nature but I'm not sure what the name of that dessert was.
